Correct answer: C). The ecosystem will undergo primary succession followed by secondary succession

Primary succession is defined as the type of biological disturbance, which takes place in an environment, which is devoid of vegetation or other organism lacking soil as a result of a volcanic eruption or the flow of lava etc.

Primary succession is common after a volcanic eruption, as it starts from the bare rock, mosses, and lichens, which are pioneer producers being colonizing the land, which is further followed by the secondary succession.

Secondary succession refers to the changes that caused a change in vegetation, which occur due to forest fire, human alteration or due to a hurricane.
