Let's write this fraction with the division sign (:) instead of the bar (/)
4x/(5+x) : 6x/(x+2) . To divide one fraction by another WE MULTIPLY THE 1ST ONE BY THE RECIPROCAL OF THE 2ND:
The 1st one is 4x/(5+x)
The 2nd one is
6x/(x+2) & its reciprocal (inverse it) =(x+2)/6x
Now we can solve:
[4x/(5+x)] . [(x+2)/6x] ==> (4x)((x+2) / (5+x)(6x) [you multiply numerator with numerator & denominator with denominator==>
(4x² + 8x) / (6x²+30x) And after simplification==> (4x+8) / (6x+30)
OR 4(x+2) / 6(x+5) ==> 2(x+2) / 3(x+5)
