He followed the Powell doctrine and wisely stopped at the border with Kuwait. His son picked up what he perceived to be the saber dropped by his father, and look where it landed us. To avoid long-term involvement in Iraq.

Answer: Bush father was very cautious about going far from the frontier of Kuwait when it was liberated. The army stopped there just in the border. if it was a good decision or a bad decision is still debatable.
