8x - 5y = -14

To find the y -intercept, put x=0 and then solve for y

8(0) - 5y = -14

0 - 5y=-14

-5y = -14

Divide both-side of the equation by -5

y = -14/-5

y =2.8

The y-intercept is 2.8

To find the x-intercept, put y=0 and then solve for x

That is;

8x - 5(0) = -14

8x - 0 = -14

8x = -14

divide both-side of the equation by 8

x = -14/8

x= -1.75

x-intercept is - 1.75
