major axis = 80 yards
minor axis = 28 yards

The 2 focus points lie on the major axis. To find the distance that separates the two games, we use this formula:

F = √(j²-n²)

F = distance from each focus to the centerj = the semi-major axis (major radius)n = the semi-minor axis (minor radius)

F = √[(40yd)² - (14yd)²]
F = √1600 yd² - 196 yd²
F = √1404 yd²
F = 37.47 yd

The games are 37 yards away from each other
