The percentage of data values between 69 and 72 is 25%

Using the parameters from the box and whisker plot ;

  • Starting point of the box (69) = Lower quartile = 25th percentile of the distribution
  • Midpoint of the box (72) = Median = 50th percentile of the distribution

The percentage of data values;

  • 50th percentile- 25th percentile

The percentage :

  • 50% - 25% = 25%

Hence, 25% of data values are in between.

Looking at the figure

we have that

Minimum=67

Q1=69

Median=72

Q3=74

Maximum=76

Remember that

Q1 ----> represent 25%

Median ----> represent 50%

The percentage is between 25% and 50%

therefore

50%-25%=25%

The answer is 25%
