when we make a rough chemical structure its like -
br
I
br-c-br
I
br
so as we can see that its having 4 bond pairs of c-br respectively so it qualifies for the hybridisation of sp3(4 bp+ 0 lp)
thus it gives us a tetrahedral geometrical structure

hope this helps:))
