ok, so you have a right angle, a given angle, and a given side for the left triangle. We are going to call angle 47° angle A. So angle A=47°, the side connecting the two triangles is directly opposite A making it side "a". We are calling the right angle C and the hypotenuse (the longest side which is 11) "c". So, Sin A=a/c and since we don't have "a" we multiply both sides by "c" changing it to (c Sin A)=a. 11•Sin(47°)=a

11•(0.7313537016)=a
8.044890718=a
