f(x) =3x^2 + 1
g(x) = 1-x
(f - g)(2)
3x^2 + 1 -(1 - x)
3x^2 + 1 - 1 + x
3x^2 + x
3(2)^2 + 2
3(4) + 2
12 + 2 = 14

(3x^2+1)-(1-x)
3x^2+1-1+x
x=2
3 (2)^2+1-1+2
3×4+1-1+2
12+1-1+2
13-1+2
12+2
