If you replace x with, for instance -1,1, and 3, you get (-1,-6), (1,-2), and (3,2) as solutions of the equation 2x-y=4

(1,-2)

2(2)-y=4
4-y=4
-4 both sides
-y=0
y=0

(2,0)
