expanding the left side:-

x^2 + 16x + 64 = x^2 + 4x + 16
x^2 - x^2 +16x - 4x + 64 - 16 = 0
12x + 48 = 0
12 x = -48
x = -4

(x+8)^2=x^2+4x+16 Simplify both sides of the equation. x^2+16x+64=x^2+4x+16 Subtract x^2 from both sides. x^2+16x+64x^2=x^2+4x+16x^2 16x+64=4x+16 Subtract 4x from both sides. 16x+644x=4x+164x 12x+64=16 Subtract 64 from both sides. 12x+64−64=16−64 12x=−48 Divide both sides by 12.12x/12=−48/12 x=−4 Answer:x=4
