Tito’s backyard measures 78 feet by 65 feet. Tito wants to expand the length and width of his backyard by the same amount so that his new pet ferret has room to run. If Tito wants his backyard to have an area three times the current value, by how much should he extend the length and width?

Answer:

to me the answer is straight forward due the options given

Explanation:

C 52, it's silly to expand it by D 15k feet, and (a) -195ft negative is the opposite of the current goal, why would he expand his yard by B 0 feet?

He should increase the length and width by a factor = sqrt 3.

so new length should be 78* sqrt3 = 135.1 - that is increase of 58.1 ft
and new width should be 65 * sqrt3 = 112,58 = increase of 47.58 ft
