The lunar eclipse would occur in the position represented by the letter E, in the image shown above.

When does the lunar eclipse occur?

When the Earth is positioned between the moon and the sun.

When the Earth blocks sunlight from the moon.

In the image shown above, we can see that the circle in the center of the image is planet Earth, where the light side is receiving sunlight and therefore we can see that the sun is positioned on the right side.

In this case, for the lunar eclipse to occur, the moon must be positioned on the left side, allowing the Earth to be between it and the sun, creating a shadow that will be seen during the eclipse.
