Step 1

Given;

\begin{gathered} 4x-3y=12--(1) \\ 7x-3y=3---(2) \end{gathered}

Step 2

Subtract equation 2 from 1

Hence,

\begin{gathered} -3x=9 \\ -(3x)/(-3)=(9)/(-3) \\ x=-3 \end{gathered}

Find the value y using equation 1

\begin{gathered} 4(-3)-3y=12 \\ -12-3y=12 \\ -12-12=3y \\ (3y)/(3)=-(24)/(3)=-8 \end{gathered}

x=-3 and y=-8

4x-3y=127x-3y=3X=? Y=?-example-1
