Explanation:

-8=5x-x+12- 8 we have to solve the equation.

\sf \implies - 8=5x-x+12- 8

We have to combine number which do not have variables like + 12 and -8. we have to see these two numbers to left hand side and when we shift these two number left hand side the sign of these two number are also change.

\sf \implies - 8 - 12 + 8 = 5x - x

Now, we have to Solve this. -8-12 = -20. We add these two numbers - 8 and -12 because - and - turns into + but. Now, we add this two numbers we get - 20. -20 + 8 = -12. We we get our answer that is -12 because minus and plus turns into minus.

\sf \implies - 12 = 4x

We write 4x because we subtract 5x with x here single x means 1x. So, 5x - 1x we get 4x.

\sf \implies \cancel{ ( - 12)/(4) }= x

\sf \implies ( - 3)/(1) = x

\sf \implies - 3 = x
