350=1.25hr
x= 1hr
use cross line method
x= 280 square feet

Well we know that he can paint 350 square feet in 1.25 hours. To find how much he can paint in 1 hour, we would divide 350 by 1.25. 350 divided by 1.25 = 280, therefore his painting rate is 280 square feet per hour.
