You need the perimeter which is the distance around something

l = 6 ft and w = 4 3/4 = 4.75
perimeter of rectangle = 2 (l + w)
= 2 (6 + 4.75) = 21.5 ft

he need 21.5 ft of trim to go around the whole rectangular piece
