5x + 2y = 57 These are the equations

x + y = 18

5x + 2y = 57

-5x - 5y = -90 This is the procedure to find x and y

-3y = -33

y = -33/-3

y = 11

x + 11 = 18

x = 18 - 11

x = 7

The numbers are 7 and 11
