the equation of a line that passe through the point (x1,y1) and has a slope of m is
y-y1=m(x-x1)


find slope firsrt

slope betwen (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is (y1-y2)/(x1-x2)
points (-1,-4) and (3,2)
slope=(-4-2)/(-1-3)=-6/-4=6/4=3/2

a point is either (-1,-4) or (3,2)
so the equations possible are
y+4=(3/2)(x+1) and
y-2=(3/2)(x-3)

(-1,-4), (3,2)

Find the slope :

m = 2 + 4 / 3 + 1

m = 6/4

Simplify.

m = 3/2

So, plug in everything into the point-slope form equation.

Point-slope form : y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)

y + 4 = 3/2x + 1
