A 200N net force is applied to a tractor in a field. If the 10 000kg tractor starts off at rest and ends up travelling with a speed of 2m/s, how long has this force been applied to the tractor?

this can be solved using Newtons second law M*a=net force

we can sub in that 10000kg*a=200n so then we know its accelerating at a rate of 0.02 m/s^2

using this we can use the equation vf=vi+a*t
we then have 2m/s=0m/s+.02m/s^2(t)
then dividing out the acceleration we find that it would take 100 seconds for the tractor to reach that velocity
