Problem: 2x + 3 = 59

Steps to find your answer

▪We have one solution in this problem

▪Remove the "equal" sign to a "subtraction" symbol

▪2(x) + 3 - 59 = ?

▪Take your "like terms" out of the problem

▪2(x) + 56

▪Lets solve for the number 2

▪2 = ?

▪Take off the 'x' and subtract it from 28

▪x - 28 = 0

▪Now we have to add by 28 to find your outcome in this problem

▪So, x + 28 = 28x

▪28 + 0 = 28

▪28 x ÷ 28 = x (⬅you can do this step, but you don't have to really, I was trying to get it easier for you to understand it a little bit better )
.
Therefore, the value of 'x' is 28 ; x = 28

Good Luck!

2x + 3 = 59 is our current equation.
We need to get 2x by itself and then simplify if possible.

Subtract 3 from both sides.
Remember, what you do to one side of an equation you must do to the other (unless you are distributing).

2x + 3 = 59
2x = 56

Divide both sides by 2 to get x.

2x / 2 = x
56 / 2 = 28

x = 28 is your solution.

I hope this helps!
