remember this, LEO says GER
LEO---> lose electrons= oxidation
GER---> gain electrons= reduction
in the reaction, we can see that Zn, which is solid, has a charge of zero. when it becomes a product in ZnF₂, mean it lose an electron to form that bond with F. This means
Zn is oxidized, and by default, F2 is reduced.
