Boron is  an element in the periodic table with a symbol B 5 is its atomic number. Its atomic mass is 10.81 grams per mole. The electron configuration of the said atom is [He] 2s2 2p1 which means that it has one pair of electrons, one unshared electron and 2 unpaired electrons. So in order for it to be stable, it needs 5 electrons.
