The Elsinore Fault is one of the largest but quietest faults in Southern California measuring 180 km. (110 mi) long, not including Whittier, Chino and Laguna Salada faults, having slip-rate of 4 mm. or 1 inch per year. It is capable of producing from 6.5 up to magnitude 7.5 earthquake.
