The expression we have is:

-3x-3=-2x+7

To join the terms with the variable "x" together on the same side of the equation, we need to use the addition property. Which tells us that if we add the same quantity to both sides, the equality remains.

In this case we add +2x to both sides of the equation:

-3x+2x-3=-2x+2x+7

and as we can see the -2x+2x in the right side is cancelled, and we get

-3x+2x-3=7

And now we have all of the variable terms on the same side.

we can continue to solve this equation by combining like terms, adding -3x+2x which results in -x

-x-3=7

And to finish and find the value of x:

\begin{gathered} -x=7+3 \\ -x=10 \\ x=10 \end{gathered}
