When industrial revolution happened, many businesses started to emerge in United States (mostly from the northern states)

As more and more businesses started to grow, the majority of people in united states started to become profit oriented and developed the mentality to take care of ourselves first before taking care of others. This creates a situation where the northern states started to maintain the distance with southern states because they simply did not see any benefit in acquainting with one another.
