migration is when a group of animals move from one area to another in search of food while hibernation is when animals sleep through the winter season. migration is usually in animals which live in colonies but hibernation is usually in solitary animals.2

hibernating is when an animal goes to sleep for a certain period of time most likely during the winter, migration is when animals move to a different location usually around mating season.
