When you throw a dice, the outcomes are 1,2,3,4,5 and 6.
Here, even outcomes are 2,4,6
And odd outcomes are 1,3,5,
Thus, the probability of getting an even number is = No of favourable outcomes/Total number of outcomes.
= 3/6 = 1/2
Now, the probability of not getting 2 will be 5/6
Thus, the net P (even, then not 2) =
(1)/(2)×
(5)/(6) =
(5)/(12)
