I believe your answer is A. The South knew Lincoln was against Slavery, and since the south depended on slavery they were very much against him. In the voting polls for the states, a few southern states didn't vote for him at all. They were very much against his views on Slavery, and it goes to show it when he was elected the southern states were quick to secede from the Union.
