1. In a survey of 50 randomly selected families at the zoo, 15 families chose the polar bear exhibit as their favorite. If 2,000 families are at the zoo, predict how many like the polar bear exhibit the best.

2. In a sample of 60 diners at a restaurant, 12 had ordered an appetizer. If the restaurant serves 800 dinners each day, how many are likely to order an appetizer?

This is a ratio problem, so in problem one with starting ratio 50:15, can be multiplied on both sides to become 2,000:600, so the answer to problem one is 600.
2) In this problem the starting ration is 60:12 again this problem can just be multiplied by 13 and 1/3 on both sides to become 800:160.
