How to solve?: First you will get you alike terms on the same side. You will do this by subtracting 5 on both sides of your sign and will therefore get the equation to where -5 and -3 is on the same side and looks like -5 - 3. Then you will combine your -5 and -3 and get -8. Now you will take your -2x and divide both sides by -2 to where your able to get your variable x alone. You will then get -8 divided by -2 and your answer would be -4.
