(5x^4 – 3x^3 + 6x) – ( 3x^3 + 11x^2 – 8x)

Distribute the - to all terms in ( 3x^3 + 11x^2 – 8x)

5x^4-3x^3+6x-3x^3-11x^2+8x

rearrange and simplify common terms

5x^4-3x^3-3x^3+11x^2+6x-8x

5x^4-6x^3+11x^2-2x
