The Homestead Act gave 160 acres of land to any U.S Citizen who wanted it to farm. Some of this land may have been sacred land or where they live. They were forced out because of this act.

The homestead act affected Native Americans by the Government taking their land and gave it to Homesteaders. Part of the homestead agreement was to take the land and to not leave any for the previous owners.
