From the figure, we are able to see that the rectangle has a length (L) of 6 squares, and a height (H) of 4 squares.

If each square has a side of 1 unit, we can calculate the perimeter as follows:


\begin{gathered} P=2* L+2* H=2*6+2*4=12+8=20 \\ P=20\text{units} \end{gathered}

And the area, which is the multiplication of the height by the length, we calculate as follows:


\begin{gathered} A=L* H=6*4=24 \\ A=24\text{ square units} \end{gathered}
