The answer is $105.

Set up a proportion and put 75 at the bottom left then put 20 on top. Next put 80 on the top right because you're paying 80% of the original price. Last cross multiply 75 and 80 then divide by 2. That would give you 300, but because of decimals make that 30. Add 30 to 75 and you get 105.

Okay, so you know that something minus 20% of its total will equal 75%. You can set up an equation:

X - 0.2X = 75

0.8X = 75

X = 93.75 ,

meaning that the original price was $93.75
