The formula of square is:

(a+b)^2=a^2+2ab+b^2

Let's find
a from the equation above:

a^2=x^2

a=x

Let's find
b from the equation above by replacing
x with
a:

2ab=12a

ab=6a

b=6

If
a=x and
b=6 then our square should look like:

(x + 6)^2 = x^2 + 12x + 36

Let's move 33 to the left side of equation and see what we have:

x^2+12x - 33=0

Finally subtract
-33 from
36 and you will have the number you have to add to complete the square:

36-(-33)=36+33=69

So, the correct answer is 69.

(12/2)^2
6^6
36

You must add 36 to both sides to complete the square.

Hope I didn't mess up for your sake!
