- Everyone wanted to go to the Quidditch WorldCup. The stadium where it was being held had61,000 seats. Seats sell for $85 in Section A $30in Section B, and $25 in Section C. The number ofseats in Section A equals the total number of seatsin Sections B and C. Suppose the stadium takes in$3,436,000 from the sold-out event. How manyseats does each section hold?HOW MANY SEATS ARE IN SECTION A?

hello

we need to take out data to help us solve this problem

total number of seats = 61,000

\begin{gathered} \text{seat A}=\text{ \$85} \\ \text{seat B= \$30} \\ \text{seat C = \$25} \end{gathered}

the number of seats A equal total number of seat B and C

a=b+c\ldots eq1
85a+30b+25c=3436000\ldots\text{equ}2
a+b+c=61000\ldots\text{equ}3

put equation 1 in equation 3

\begin{gathered} a+b+c=61000 \\ a=b+c \\ (b+c)+b+c=61000 \\ 2b+2c=61000\ldots eq4 \end{gathered}
