Answer:

The Quotient of Powers Rule helps to simplify exponents.

That is, If our expression is
(a^m)/(a^n)

Then after applying Quotient of Powers Rule,

We can write,
(a^m)/(a^n)=a^(m-n)

Here our expression, 2 to the fifth power over 8 =
( 2 ^5)/(8)

=
( 2 ^5)/(2^3)

=
2^(5-3) ( By applying quotient of power rule)

=
2^(2)

= 4
