A store sells cooking oil of two different brands in bottles of the same size. The table below and the equation each show the price (y), in dollars, of different number of bottles of oil (x):

Explanation:

I had the same question in FLVS, this was from FLVS lesson 5.01 am I Correct?

Chart A: But to prove my answer looking at the chart we will notice that Brand A adds 12 every bottle so, we need to first 12x9=108 so we have the price of nine bottles for chart A.

Chart B: Looking at the equation it adds 15 for evert bottle of brand B so 15x9=135 and we now have the price for both brands so now we find our solution.

Solution: We then take the prices of both brands and subtract them so, 135-108= 27 thus we have our answer which is D or 27!!!

Using the data, we can calculate the price per bottle for Brand A, which is:
24 / 2
= $12 per bottle

We also know that the slope of a line shows the rate of change, so the price per bottle for Brand B is $15.

The difference per bottle is 15 - 12 = Brand B is cost $3 more per bottle
The difference for 9 bottles will be: 9 * 3 = $27.
