In a candy mix there are 44 green bars for every 33 red bars. How many red bars are there if there are 200 green bars?

Set up a proportion to make it easier.

44/33=200/x. Then multiply 200 by 33 And multiply 44 by x
So it becomes 6600=44x.
Then divide both sides by 44 to get 150=x
Thus, there are 150 red bars for 200 green bars.

It would be helpful to set up two proportions and set them equal to each other. I'll help set up the proportions. Think of proportions like ratios.

You're given 44 green bars : 33 red bars. This will be your first proportion:
(44 green)/(33 red). Now you're asked to find the number of red bars if there are 200 green bars. So here's your second proportion:
(200 green)/(x red ). x is the number you're solving for.

Set your two proportions equal to each other:
(44 green)/(33 red)= (200 green)/(x red). Now solve for x, and you should get your answer!
