In general, the magnetic field goes from the magnetic north pole to the magnetic south pole. On Earth, it goes from the geographic south pole to the geographic north pole. Therefore, the geographic North Pole is the magnetic South Pole.

Another way to see this is that opposite poles are attracted, when we use a compass, it points to the geographic north because the north pole of the magnet in the compass is attracted to the south pole of the Earth.
