Equation 1) 3x -2y = 17
Equation 2) -4x - 3y = 17

Multiply equation 1 by 3.

1) 3(3x - 2y = 17)
1) 9x - 6y = 51

Multiply equation 2 by 2.

2) 2(-4x - 3y = 17)

2) -8x - 6y = 34
1) 9x - 6y = 51

Subtract equations from each other.

-17x = -17

Divide both sides by -17.

x = 1

Plug in 1 for x in the first equation.

3x - 2y = 17

3(3) - 2y = 17

Simplify.

9 - 2y = 17

Subtract 9 from both sides.

-2y = 17 - 9

Simplify.

-2y = 8

Divide both sides by -2.

y = -4

x = 1, y = -4

~Hope I helped!~
