(-4/9)f = -3
To clear the fraction coefficient you need to multiply both sides by the reciprocal.
The reciprocal of (-4/9) is (-9/4).
(-9/4)(-4/9)f = -3(-9/4)
f = 27/4 or 6 3/4 as a mixed number or 6.75 as a decimal
