Also known as the "Sleeping Ute Mountain", it is located within the Ute Mountain range, in the southwestern part of the state of Colorado. The place was considered as a sacred site for the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe and it is still considered as such by its descendants. This chain of mountains has an extension of approximately 12 miles.
On the other hand, the place is widely visited by geologists due to the formations of igneous rocks throughout the range. These professionals often make efforts in order to preserve the area as much as possible.
