Granite Peak is a well-known exposed batholith in the Teton Mountains. It is a mass of granite that originally formed beneath layers of sedimentary rock.
It has formed from cooled magma and is the highest peak in Montana. It is an igneous rock bodies called as plutons, which aggregates and cool down to form rock.
