The answer is England, France, Portugal, and the Netherlands

I got this from a passage in my school textbook:

The Conquest and Colonization of the New World

Upon setting foot in the New World, Columbus immediately claimed the land for the Spanish crown. Spain would eventually colonize much of the New World. England, France, Portugal, and the Netherlands would also make claims to the lands of the Western Hemisphere.
