Look at the figure

AB and A'B' are corresponding sides

A and A' are corresponding points

B and B' are corresponding points

In this problem the big figure and the small figure are similar

that means

The corresponding sides are proportional

To find out the scale factor

divide A'C'/AC

we havr

A'C'=1 unit

AC=4 units

substitute

1/4=0.25

the scale factor is 0.25

is less than 1 so

is a reduction

Part 3

Figure B is the small figure

Figure A is the big figure or original figure

so

Verify each options

Option A is not true

Because figure B is not larger than figure A

Option B

The option B is true

because the figures are similar, the number of edges and the number of angles is the same

Option C

The option C is not true

The perimeter of figure A is greater than perimeter of figure B

Option D

The option D is true

because the figures are similar, the number of edges and the number

of angles is the same

Option E

The option E is true

Because, if two figures are similar, then the corresponding angles are congruent and the corresponding sides are proportional
