Hey!

Hope this helps...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To Tolerate something (in non-medical terms) is to abide to, or accept...
To Tolerate something (in medical terms) is to have the drug/medicine as un-effective...
------------------------
Like if you tolerate someone's behavior your saying (per say) that it's okay...
Example of (non-medical) usage: "Even though I do not like Tyler's behavior, I will tolerate it for the time-being..."
Example of (medical) usage: "When someone/'the client' takes enough of something (being the medicine) for a length amount of time, he/she will have to get a higher dosage because the body will have built up a tolerance for it..."
tolerance to a drug is simply your body's built up resistance to the drug. The longer you take the drug for, your body may build up a tolerance for it, and you have to take larger amounts to get the desired effect.
