He places fertilized fish eggs in an aquarium that contains lower salinity than typical Atlantic Ocean water. He observes that the fertilized eggs fail to develop. Because lower salinity is the only thing he reproduced, in a large ecosystem such as the Atlantic Ocean there are a variety of factors that can influence the development of eggs.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

According to the given situation, the purpose of investigation of the scientists is to determine the effect of salinity on the fish development typically in the Atlantic Ocean. In the investigation the scientists observed the development of the fish eggs in the low salinity in aquarium. But the scientist should also observe the development of the fish eggs in the salinity level same as that of Atlantic Ocean or level comparatively higher. Thus, the conclusion was based upon the fish development in only low salinity is inconclusive for this investigation.
