What is the role of NERSA in South Africa?

NERSA stands for National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA). It was launched in 2004. It was originally created to regulate the energy industry for sustainable energy use today and in the future. It's maine purpose today is to regulate the energy industry in accordance with the government laws, policies, standards and international best practice of South Africa in support of sustainable energy development.
